Mayflies

Scientific Classification:
Order: Ephemeroptera 

Physical Appearance:
Four wings: two forewings and two hindwings
Forewings are bigger than the hindwings
Three segments on its body part: head, thorax, abdomen
The second segment of the thorax is larger for holding the flight muscles
Three pairs of legs, a pair of antennae, large compound eyes and three ocelli or simple eyes
- Life cycle: egg - naiad - mayfly (adult)
- Incomplete metamorphosis
Food Source:
Naiad: Usually omnivorous - feed on small plants and animals in the water
Adult: Does not eat or drink
