- Two pairs of strong transparent wings

- Three pairs of legs, large
multifaceted eyes, nymph has extendable jaws, an elongated body or abdomen
- When resting, wings are held
perpendicular to the body
- Use the legs to catch hold of preys
instead of crawling like most insects do
- Able to fly in six different
directions: forward, backward, left, right, upward, and downward
- Life cycle: egg - nymph - dragonfly (adult)
- Incomplete metamorphosis
Food Source:
- Nymph: They are carnivorous which feed on
smaller invertebrates or vertebrates. Some feed on other smaller nymphs
- Adult: Feed on smaller insects such as bees,
ants, mosquitoes and flies
