Yesterday, while I was preparing myself for bed, I noticed this injured longhorn beetle on my bed. At first, I thought maybe it was some kind of insect that I have never seen before because of its weird figure. When I took a closer look at it, I was surprised to see that the beetle actually had lost its wings and abdomen. Its hardened forewings were torn apart and left only a torn hindwing behind its back. Other than that, it lost one of its legs. At that moment, I still couldn't believe that it was a longhorn beetle until I realized the segmented antennae on its head. And when I tried to remove it from my bed, it was terrified and ran around trying to find a place to hide. But I managed to capture it with an empty plastic cup and placed it outside of the room. I guess insects don't have pain receptors 'cause they seemed to be okay even when they're injured. Just like a cockroach that lost its head can still survive for a week! It only dies because of hunger.
