- Females have valves at the end of the abdomens
- Males have a single unpaired plate at the end of the abdomens
- Life cycle: egg - nymph - adult
- Incomplete metamorphosis
Food Source:
- Nymph and adult: specific food plant such as grasses and leaves
Crickets
Physical Appearance:
- A pair of long antennae, a pair of eyes, a mandible, three pairs of legs where the hind legs are stronger which help in leaping further
- Three segments on its body: head, thorax, abdomen
- Looks a bit like a cockroach
- Some species have spikes on their legs
- Only the male crickets chirp
- Chirping depends on the species and the environmental temperature
